As we move into the New Year I always encourage my clients to look back on the past year and reflect on what they accomplished, what worked and what they want to create next. It's inspiring to see just how much we do achieve and helps us to connect with what's possible if we set ourself up for success. What do you want to create in 2017?
Complete the Old ~~~~~~~~~ Create the New - 2017
This is a process to use at the beginning of a New Year, when you begin a new career or job, or whenever you are in a life transition. Follow the steps and answer the questions through the lens of what I am letting go of and what am I welcoming into my life.
Step One
Look over the past year and:
Make a list of all the wins, successes and breakthroughs in the past year. Look at all areas of your life.
Make a list of all the losses, disappointments and breakdowns in the past year.
Discuss what it means to be "complete" with each item. Incompleteness holds us back from taking on the next exciting opportunity.
Step Two
Looking over the past year, what are the 5-7 lessons you have learned?
Step Three
Imagine one year ahead, and write a list of all the wins, successes and breakthroughs for the coming year. This is about what I want the year to be and how I am designing it.
It is January 2018. This is what I am celebrating.
Step Four
Much like the Chinese tradition that gives names to each year, choose a name for this coming year. Use images, symbols or ideas to name the coming year. What image allows you to step more fully into what you want to be, and are already becoming? Find a name that stretches your imagination and moves you into greater possibility.
e.g. Year of the Galactic Explorer
Here's to your success....Happy New Year!
